A 20-year-old’s guide to buying the perfect car

Who doesn’t want a kick-ass set of wheels right? Unless you’re old and boring and have no life, you want a car that reflects who you are, not just something that’ll get you from A to B, but with the amount options available, it’s difficult to make that choice, so here’s how you go about it.

First off, get your budget sorted, that’s always the starting point to buying a car. Set an upper limit, but leave some wiggle room in case you find something perfect that will cost just a little bit more than you originally planned. Here, keep in mind that apart from paying for the car, you’ll also be paying for the insurance, and the more expensive the car, the higher the premium, so unless you have a steady flow of cash coming your way to cover that, you might want to steer clear from the pricier options.

Second, decide what kind of car you want, two-door, four-door, truck, SUV, hatchback etc. Etc. Once you know which way you’re going, decide if you want a used car or a new one. There are advantages and disadvantages of both, but if you are buying a used car, tread carefully, or you might end up stuck with a dead rubber.

Lastly, the vital statistics, and the curb appeal. Look at how much power the engine generates, how much torque, how many miles to the gallon it gives, what’s its top speed, whether it looks good enough in your opinion, and whether or not you’ll look good in it, and basically see if it satisfies what you want from your car, and that it will continue to do so for the foreseeable future because this isn’t the kind of thing you buy every day.

Hope you find an awesome ride, and you enjoy a bunch of adventures together, remember, take care of the car, and the car will take care of you too. That’s that for today, later ‘gators!
